TRIST is an international, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study to investigate whether TroVax, added to first-line standard of care therapy, prolongs the survival of patients with locally advanced or metastatic clear cell renal adenocarcinoma. The short title for the study, TRIST, stands for TroVax® Renal Immunotherapy Survival Trial. The TRIST trial is ongoing and has now recruited the full cohort of patients. The first results are expected in 2009.
